2010 Ticket Operations Intern - Memphis Redbirds (Memphis, TN)
The Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, are currently in search of a Ticket Operations Intern. This position provides interested and qualified candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. The Memphis Redbirds are the first not-for-profit professional baseball team and facility in the United States. In addition, the Redbirds play all home games at AutoZone Park, which has gained national attention as the best ballpark in the country below the Major League level.
The Ticket Operations Interns will work directly with the Ticket Operations Manager.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Learning, operating and troubleshooting various aspects of the Redbirds ticketing system;
2. Taking ticket orders, posting payments and ensuring delivery/pick-up; this includes season tickets, advance tickets, group sales, picnics, birthdays, pass lists and walk-up sales;
3. Working closely with the Sales Department to communicate availability of tickets and advance sales;
4. Training, scheduling and supervising game day ticket sellers on the ticketing system and the Redbirds customer service plan;
5. Balancing out end-of-day sales reports and dealing with daily monetary transactions;
6. Upkeep and inventory of the necessary equipment in the ticket operation; i.e. ticket computers, blank ticket stock and ticket envelopes.
7. Learning, maintaining and operating the barcode scanning system.
• Other duties include selling season and game day tickets, answering phones and various game-time duties.
Interns will receive a monthly compensation + housing will be provided
The position begins in January 19, 2009 and lasts until the end of the season.
