The Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, are currently in search of a Promotions Intern. These positions provide interested and qualified candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. The Memphis Redbirds are the first not-for-profit professional baseball team and facility in the United States. In addition, the Redbirds play all home games at AutoZone Park, which has gained national attention as the best ballpark in the country below the Major League level.

The Promotions Intern will work directly with the Marketing Coordinator.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Planning and coordinating promotional events/specialty nights which includes executing all elements of the promotion;
2. Pre-game promotional preparation, which would include hanging banners, distributing giveaway items, and other in-park elements;
3. Executing an in-game promotional schedule of events—first pitch, National Anthem, Field of Dreams, various contests, etc.
4. Coordinating and working with all in-park entertainers (bands, mascots, celebrities)
5. Researching and acquiring traveling exhibits to come to AutoZone Park
6. Maintaining the promotional storage space. Requires organizing and keeping track of all promotional materials.
7. Managing and coordinating the entertainment squad and stadium emcee. Includes scheduling and over-seeing practices and arranging in-game production of the squad. Will also work with the Mascot Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator on outside appearances.

• Other duties include selling season and game day tickets, group tickets, answering phones and various game-time duties.

Interns will receive a monthly compensation + housing will be provided

The position begins in January 19, 2009 and lasts until the end of the season.
