Media Relations Manager - Nashville Sounds Baseball Club (Nashville, TN)

The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is currently seeking a talented professional to join our team in the position of Media Relations Manager.

This position, which reports to the Vice President of Operations, is responsible for creating and executing public relations plans that effectively build awareness for the team on and off the field, while also assisting with the club’s social media and graphic design responsibilities.


  • Develop and proactively pitch feature stories to traditional and non-sports media
  • Serve as team liaison for local and national media with regard to the Nashville Sounds organization as well as the highly-acclaimed First Tennessee Park
  • Oversee editorial content for in-season game program/yearbook
  • Develop content and assist with editing of team's website
  • Answer all baseball-related questions from staff, fans, and media
  • Assist marketing staff with social media efforts and efficiencies
  • Assist local and national media with interviews with coaches, players, and front office staff
  • Write player biographies for use in media guide and other publications
  • Write and distribute all press releases and media advisories, including postgame summaries
  • Daily compilation/distribution of team and league statistics along with other relevant baseball information
  • Manage the set-up and operation of the press box on game day
  • Track team coverage in print, broadcast, and online media; distribute updates to ownership/staff and maintain archive file
  • Update team's daily game notes
  • Work in conjunction with marketing department to promote Sounds games and events
  • Assist community relations department in securing players for appearances, clinics, etc.
  • Provide assistance with various stadium operations (tarp duty, event setup/teardown, etc.) or other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Vice President of Operations


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum three (3) years of media/public relations experience in a professional sports/entertainment setting
  • Prior sports & entertainment marketing experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient skills in MS Office applications, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Team player who is a creative and proactive problem solver
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed
  • Self-motivated with a drive to succeed and advance
  • Strong baseball knowledge
