Group Sales Account Executive - Memphis Redbirds (Memphis, TN)

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Redbirds are seeking enthusiastic, driven, and energetic individuals to join the Group Sales staff. Each of the Group Sales Account Executives plays a key role in the managing of existing group ticket accounts and building new business relationships that generate new group ticket sales.  Group Sales Account Executives will be required to manage a large number of accounts; and independently create new accounts to achieve ticket sales and revenue goals.  Each of the Group Sales Account Executives must continually communicate with key existing Group Leaders, supporting multiple sales initiatives, planning event logistics, exhibiting a high level of customer service on a year round basis.  Each of the Group Sales Account Executives must also allocate significant time throughout the year dedicated to researching, prospecting, and developing new business relationships that bring in large group sales.

Essential Functions of the Job:

·   Make 75-100 outbound calls per day to businesses and individuals.

·   Develop one-on-one relationships with potential group ticket buyers to develop new group ticket sales through cold calling, utilization of CRM, and referrals from current clients.

·   Continue to build upon existing relationships with current customers with a goal of maximizing renewals by annually conducting a needs analysis and growing the partnership between the clients and the Redbirds to optimize annual renewals.

·   Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clients.

·   Be on-call to push/pull tarp and set up Saturday/holiday fireworks throughout the year.

·   Represent the Organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.

·   Other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience Preferred:

·   Bachelor Degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, or related field

·   2 to 3 years of sales experience, preferably with a professional/minor league sports team

·   Full session of sales training in a professional sports sales training program

·   Ability to multi-task

·   Maintain a constant high level of professionalism

·   Provide excellent customer service and generate repeat business and referrals

·   Availability to work week nights, weekends, and holidays, primarily April through September

 

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

·   Bachelor Degree from an accredited four year college or university

·   Minimum of one year prior sales experience

·   Experience working for a sports team, athletic department, or event management

·   Strong communication skills, both written and oral

·   Positive attitude

·   Strong work ethic

·   Detail-oriented

·   Self-motivator

·   Ability to work well in a team environment and independently

·   Ability to make out-bound call and take in-coming calls

·   Availability to work week nights, weekends, and holidays, primarily April through September
