Corporate Partner Services Intern - Tacoma Rainiers Baseball Club (Tacoma, WA)

Reports to Corporate Partner Services Manager

Works closely with:

  1. Corporate Partner Sales
  2. Marketing and Communications
  3. Graphic Design
  4. Game Entertainment
  5. Ticket Staff
  6. Stadium Operations

Job Objective:

Assist in the management of service, activation, implementation and fulfillment of all Corporate Partner contracts. Interface with partners at all levels of their organization for the partnership in regard to promotions, media, signage, hospitality, community opportunities, special events and other assets.

(40 hours/week – combination of weekday office hours, gamedays and events)

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Marketing team, Corporate Partner Sales and Game Entertainment to create and outline partner promotions
    • Manage on-field/in-game execution of all partner promotions
    • Assist in the execution of all promotional marketing plans
    • Assist in compiling promotion wrap ups at the end of all promotional periods to be relayed to partners
  • Assist with the execution of all hospitality elements and events (gamedays and non-gamedays)
    • Responsible for ticket distribution to all partners
    • Support all partner events off-site
    • Design hospitality event invitations and manage RSVPs for Corporate Partner networking events
    • Coordinate/schedule gameday seat visits, first pitches, videoboard welcomes, mascot visits and suite/party deck visits
    • Coordinate and host all partner events and stadium rentals on-site (i.e. party decks, suites, batting practices, board meetings, etc.)
  • Support Corporate Partner Services and Marketing teams to execute the layout of the daily game program
  • Take photos and documentation of all promotions, events and contractual obligations and maintain an accurate image library for Annual Reports

Qualifications:
Must be receiving course credit from an accredited university or college in a related field (i.e. business, marketing, advertising, communications, hospitality).

Excellent oral and written communication skills to develop strong working relationships with partners, coworkers and other stakeholders. Must be able to handle multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment. Must be a problem solver and have decision-making ability.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign.

Game Day Box Office Coordinator - Tacoma Rainiers (Tacoma, Wa)

Reports to: Director of Ticket Operations

As a seasonal employee with the Tacoma Rainiers you will be assisting the Director of Ticket Operations in all aspects relating to Ticket Operations at Cheney Stadium, with a central focus on game day Box Office operations. This position will require you to execute all aspects of Box Office operations including ticket fulfillment, processing, accounting, promotions, professional customer service and Ticketmaster systems management. This position will assume a high level of responsibility on all Monday – Thursday game days, and will be responsible for coordinating all Box Office game day part time staff.   

Job Description
• Must be available for ALL Monday – Thursday 2015 Tacoma Rainiers home games, from 2 hours prior to game time to the end of the game
• Assist the Box Office Coordinator with the scheduling of Ticket Sellers and Ticket Scanners for each 2015 homestand
• Oversee all aspects of the Primary Box Office on game days, including, but not limited to, managing staff, providing upper level customer service, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and provide in game reporting
• Serve as window seller and will call attendant during periodic Saturday Box Office hours and during games when needed
• Strong social skills required for  interaction with the general public, co-workers, and staff in a fast paced environment
• Ticketmaster Host & Archtics experience is highly encouraged
• Assist in other efforts as needed by the Director of Ticket Operations

TIME TABLE: Spring through Summer (March 2015 - August 2015)

HOURS: A typical work week consists of a minimum of 20-25 hours per week, mostly during weekday home games. This can increase based on availability.

Game Entertainment Coordinator - Tacoma Rainiers (Tacoma, WA)

We’re looking for the life of the party. A creative, self-motivated entertainer who understands what it takes to put on a show night after night. The music, the skits, the mascot, the emcee - we need someone willing to spearhead the spirit felt at Cheney Stadium. Rainiers fans expect an experience when they come to the ballpark. We’re searching for the innovative mind capable of delivering that atmosphere.

Position Description: The On-Field Game Entertainment Coordinator reports directly to the Team President, Creative Director and Vice President of Business Development.  The selected candidate must possess a strong desire to heighten Rainiers fans’ experiences through the implementation of high quality game entertainment performed throughout each of the team’s 72 home games.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Create game scripts incorporating entertainment and sponsorship elements

·         Compose PA scripts for all in-game events

·         Direct the performances of all in-game skits and events

·         Consistently incorporate fresh and creative music, playlists and videos shown in-game

·         Work closely with the Technical Director and video crew to coordinate all in-game performances

·         Oversee the creation, rehearsals and performances of skits utilizing the team mascot, emcees and other on-field performers

·         Select and schedule National Anthem performers for each of the team’s 72 home games

·         Hire and schedule a mascot, emcee and other on-field performers

·         Maintain and care for mascot costumes and equipment

·         Coordinate and book all non-game mascot-related events and appearances

·         Manage all entertainment-related elements of non-game events held at the ballpark

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Enthusiasm for creating, directing and performing  elements of game entertainment

Media Relations Coordinator - Tacoma Rainiers (Tacoma, WA)

Position Description: The Tacoma Rainiers Media Relations Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Media Development.  The selected candidate will serve as a primary contact between members of the media, both on the national and local level, and the Tacoma Rainiers front office throughout the 2015 season.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Manage the operation of the press box for each of the team’s 72 home games

·         Format and update the game day information for each of the team’s 144 games

·         Track player transactions and update the team roster as needed

·         Coordinate interview requests between members of the media and Rainiers players and coaches

·         Oversee the writing and formatting of the 2015 team media guide

·         Write and edit team news releases recognizing team awards and achievements

·         Compile and distribute stat packs prior to the start of each of the team’s 72 home games

·         Organize the distribution of team media credentials

·         Assist in maintaining the team website and operating the club’s various social media accounts

·         Maintain a strong working relationship with members of the media

·         Consistently pitch story ideas promoting both the team and front office

·         Occasionally contribute ideas and compose copy used to promote marketing initiatives

·         Perform additional baseball information-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Degree from a four-year college or university

·         Previous experience working in the communications department of either a professional sports front office or a college athletic department

·         Strong communications skills, preferably with experience writing for baseball

·         Thorough knowledge of both baseball rules and terminology

·         Available to work flexible and demanding hours (nights, holidays, weekends) for the entirety of the team’s 144-game schedule

·         Ability to remain organized, effectively manage time and successfully meet deadlines

·         Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the Adobe Creative Suite
