A member of the Tacoma Rainiers Fun Squad must be a confident, outgoing individual who works well with others and can engage with fans of all ages. He/she must be unafraid to get silly and to do anything it takes to put on a great show for Rainiers fans. Candidates must be in good physical condition to stand, walk, run and dance for extended periods of time.  Fun Squad members must be able follow instructions and think quickly in a live performance environment. Ideal applicants for this position should have a lively personality, tons of energy, and a passion for having fun.

This position may include opportunities in the following areas:

  • Represent the Tacoma Rainiers at home games & at a wide range of events throughout the Puget Sound area
  • Partner with team mascot to put on exciting in game entertainment for fans
  • Meet and greet fans prior to, during, and after events
  • Perform duties in a respectful manner deemed acceptable according to the team standards

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be able to perform in front of large crowds
  • Available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Punctuality is mandatory
  • Understanding of baseball rules & game format
  • Take and follow direction of Game Entertainment Coordinator
  • Memorization of in between inning skits & scripts

Rhubarb must be an outgoing individual who works well with others and can engage with fans of all ages. He/she must be in strong physical condition to wear a heavy costume, endure high temperatures and stand, walk, run or dance for extended periods of time. Rhubarb must be able to read individuals’ social cues to understand the level of interaction each fan may want. Ideal applicants for this position should have a creative and energetic personality with the ability to motivate others and have a passion for having fun.

  • Represent the Tacoma Rainiers at home games & at a wide range of events throughout the Puget Sound area

The Rainiers on-field Emcee must be an intelligent entertainer who can speak with confidence in front of a crowd and engage with fans of all ages. The Emcee is the master of ceremonies for the Rainiers fan experience and will guide the fans through their evening at Cheney Stadium. An ideal field emcee is charming, likeable, & dynamic. Ideal applicants for this position should have an entertainer’s spirit, be a natural leader, and have a passion for having fun.

The Public Address (PA) Announcer is responsible for being the voice of Cheney Stadium for Tacoma Rainiers baseball games & other stadium events. This person will be required to announce all promotions, introduce players and correctly pronounce team personnel and sponsor names. The ideal candidate will have a great professional speaking voice with energy and enthusiasm at all times. Candidates must be able to think on their toes, multitask, keep track of player changes/game progress and have an excellent understanding of the game of baseball.

This position may include opportunities in the following areas:

  • Represent the Tacoma Rainiers as the voice of Cheney Stadium
  • Collaboration with control room to create a cohesive team
  • Perform PA Announcer duties in a manner deemed acceptable according to the team standards

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be able to read & speak eloquently under pressure
  • Available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Punctuality is mandatory
  • Be able to keep scripts organized
  • Must be able to work well with others
