JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Inside Sales Representative is an entry level position in which you will learn about the sports industry from a ticket sales perspective. You will be soliciting potential clients by phone to sell season seats and group outings all while providing outstanding service to our guests and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Be responsible for sales of Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field ticket inventory.
• Approximately 20 hours per week.
• Compensation is hourly and there is commission on revenue.
• Conduct 100 or more cold calls per day.
• Work on a daily basis to generate new leads and creative ways to sell tickets.
• Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
• Handle incoming calls from sales prospects and existing clients.
• Actively research and prospect new sales leads.
• Professionally represent the organization.
• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.
• Work as a member of the TEAM, and have fun!

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Strong interpersonal skills a must.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Word.
• Sales experience is required, experience cold calling a plus.
• Strong background in customer service is a plus.
• High School Diploma.

Pay Rate: $9.00 per hour

Media Relations Assistant - Part Time Seasonal - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY:

The Sacramento River Cats are the Triple-A baseball affiliate of the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball Club. We are looking for a highly talented, professional media relations assistant eager to assist in both short- and long-term media and public relations projects. The hours of the position fluctuate depending on game times.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Act as beat writer/content producer for the team

• Supply content for River Cats daily online baseball information and print publications.

  • Write daily game story while team is at home and on road.
  • Write River Cats feature content for The Inside Pitch magazine.

• Write and distribute team press releases in a timely manner.

• Work with Marketing staff to prepare for pre-season media activities; including 2015 media guide creation and media day planning.

• Manage Raley Field press box before, during and after games.

• Coordinate various player appearances and executing media requests for interviews

• Manage Media Relations trainees, statistics stringers, and pitch clock personnel with gameday tasks.

• Act as liaison between field staff and Official Scorer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Self-motivated

• Completed 2 or more years of college coursework.

• Journalism/communications/public relations background a plus.

• Must be familiar with the game of baseball, including knowledge of significant baseball statistics.

• Polished writing ability.

• Experience with website maintenance and updating

• Ability to multi-task and work with in pressure situations (i.e., experience with deadlines).

• Willing to work long and unusual hours, including and especially evenings and weekends.

• Good oral communication skills.

• Computer Skills: Some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) a plus, but not required.

The Sales Assistant is an entry level position in which you will learn about the sports industry from a ticket sales perspective.  You will be working closely with the Account Executives to provide excellent service to existing and potential clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Be responsible for sales of Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field ticket inventory.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week.
  • Work on a daily basis to generate new leads and creative ways to sell tickets.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
  • Conduct 50-100 cold calls a day.
  • Professionally represent the organization.
  • Work games and other events to support ticket sales initiatives, this includes evenings and weekends.
  • Work as a member of the TEAM, and have fun!

  • Strong interpersonal skills a must.

Street Team - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY:

 

The Street Team is responsible for representing the organization outside of Raley Field as well as within, and also to seek out and establish relationships with events and organizations to develop grass roots marketing opportunities to promote the River Cats. Street Team members are expected to have a positive outgoing attitude as well as a diligent and detail oriented work ethic. Street Team members are responsible for generating interest in the River Cats from the public at a variety of events by creating a positive and welcoming environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Smile and greet every guest

  • Select guests for and organize all on-site promotions

  • Growing the River Cats contact database through community involvement including but not limited to Cats Care community events and Thirsty Thursday activities.

  • Engage fans in entertainment such as performances and cheers

  • Desire to deliver exceptional customer service

  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude that is fun and respectful

  • Active immersion with all guests

  • Take photos at events

  • Flyer and item hand-outs at events

  • Must have valid driver license

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must be able to lift or push at least 15 pounds

  • Assist with the set-up, execution and break-down of daily events and/or promotions

  • Flexible availability – including mostly nights and weekends and some holidays

  • Ability to easily stand and move up and down stairs

  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach overhead as needed

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including; cold, wind, rain and heat
