SUMMARY:

The Baseball Operations and Public Relations Coordinator will be responsible for handling all media interaction and matters, overseeing all player travel, housing and communicating with the field staff. This individual will also be responsible to manage and oversee the clubhouse staff and batboys.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Write and distribute all baseball/non-baseball press releases
  • Maintain friendly and professional relationship with all local media members
  • Manage, oversee, and facilitate all baseball and non-baseball related media requests
  • Plan & execute annual Media Day
  • Write & print media guides, stats, game notes, rosters, and all other baseball collateral
  • Publicize, coordinate, and run all press conferences & interviews
  • Liaison between team and River Cats staff, fans, and media
  • Answer all baseball-related questions from staff, fans, and media
  • Create and edit gameday program content
  • Proofread and edit inter-department collateral
  • Aid in creation and execution of all marketing plans and initiatives
  • Manage team social media accounts including Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn
  • Provide content for team website and blog
  • Manage and oversee part time and seasonal staff
  • Manage and control team travel schedule including all flights and charters
  • Facilitate travel in-season for River Cats, visiting teams, and umpires
  • Manage and coordinate team housing
  • Facilitate visits from SF Giants front office/coaching staff and scouts
  • Order and distribute team per diem
  • Coordinate all player arrivals and departures
  • Manage clubhouse staff, including hours & payroll

  • Must have a college degree;

The Sacramento River Cats,  have just concluded our 15th season. Since the team came to Sacramento in 2000, no minor league team has consistently filled the ballpark as much as the Cats. This past season, more than 700,000 people attended events at Raley Field. Raley Field has been the toast of the region since its debut in May of 2000. With a seating capacity of 14,014, it features 36 luxury suites, 2,500 club seats, a stadium club, multiple group party areas, children’s playground, a giant HD LED video board and a state-of-the-art audio/visual production center.

In addition to our attendance records, we won back-to-back Pacific Coast League Championships twice (2003-04 and 2007-08), played host to the 2005 Triple-A-All-Star Game, and continue to send many players on to the Major Leagues, including Barry Zito, Nick Swisher and Carlos Gonzalez.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assisting in qualifying sales prospects and leads
• Following the sales process to prospect, contact, sell, and implement advertisements for The Inside Pitch, the River Cats’ game day program
• Assisting in activation of all contractual partnership elements including, but not limited to: in-game activities and promotions, sponsor signage, radio inventory, print ads, hospitality, VIP tours and first pitches, giveaways, non-baseball events, and other obligations
• Creating sponsorship proposals
• Providing support for the luxury suite level, both game day and non game day
• Providing exceptional customer service

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Four year related degree preferred
• Sales and/or service experience preferred
• Must possess strong communication and people skills, be personable and enthusiastic, and be professional and courteous
• Must possess high energy, be flexible, and must be able to handle multiple tasks
• Must possess problem solving and decision making ability
• Must have basic knowledge/understanding of River Cats Baseball Organization
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Access and Photoshop.

SUMMARY: The River Cats and Raley Field is looking for a unique individual to assume the role of the River Cats Mascot, “Dinger”. The successful candidate should have one or more of the following attributes:

  • Have dance, gymnastic or acting experience, and/or training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Perform and entertain at all home games at Raley Field, team events and community appearances.
  • Manage and determine Dinger’s performances, skits and dance moves coming up with creative and original ideas to keep our fans entertained.  
  • Responsible for the upkeep, care, cleaning and maintenance of all mascot costumes.
  • Input in deciding on new mascot costumes, the design and theme.
  • Create monthly reports & schedule of Dinger’s community appearances.
  • Manage, oversee and maintain Dinger’s Twitter page by interacting with Dinger’s friends and fans, keeping his page current and interesting with posts, photos, and videos.
  • Responsible for maximizing the quantity and quality of Dinger appearances.
  • Responsible for training and communication with back-up Dinger and handlers.
  • Manage and determine Groove Crew dances & songs/In-game entertainment.
  • Keep an active Dinger presence in the community at least 5 days a week.

SUMMARY

The Sacramento River Cats are seeking individuals that can work on a part-time/seasonal basis with the grounds crew.  The ideal candidate should be hard working, flexible, with dedication to the work at hand.  They must prove that detail is their top priority with a qualifying background in manual labor projects.  This position will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and the occasional overtime.  This individual must be available through the end of October 2015. 

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide support to the Head Groundskeeper of Raley Field in all aspects of daily field operations and maintenance of Raley Field for high school, college and River Cat’s baseball season including but not limited to edging, infield clay work, mound/home plate repair, tarp pulls, batting practice both set-up and breakdown and pre/post game preparation and repair.
  • Clean dugouts
  • Rake debris from warning track
  • Sweep edges of turf free of material
  • Prep mound and home plates following a game
  • Hand water turf as needed
  • Pull tarp as weather dictates
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to work with a group and individually
  • Flexible availability – including mostly nights, weekends and special events.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including; cold, wind, rain and heat.
