Baseball Operations Trainee - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY:

The Sacramento River Cats are the Triple-A baseball affiliate of the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball Club.  We are looking for a Baseball Operations Trainee to assist with all baseball operations activities throughout the season, including team travel, player relations, and coordination with league counterparts. Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Assist Baseball Operations Coordinator with planning and execution of team travel schedule

  • Coordinate all player arrivals and departures.

  • Travel execution for home and visiting teams, as well as PCL umpires

  • Communicate with league counterparts on team arrivals and departures

  • Coordinate with local and road hotels for team personnel needs

  • Coordinate with contacts at SMF airport for team arrivals and departures

  • Coordinate with transportation contacts for charter and vehicle needs

  • Manage creation and production of 2018 player guide (local housing resources, etc)

  • Assist with the management of the Raley Field Press Box on game days

  • Work with Media Relations Assistant to contribute baseball information for gameday collateral

  • Assist in creating and editing TIP, social media, and marketing material, and contribute input and ideas to overall marketing plan

  • Work with grounds crew and game-day production staff to execute daily game schedule.

  • Assist marketing staff with activities related to the team

  • Coordinate and execute player appearances both at Raley Field and in the community

  • Scheduling and management of seasonal clubhouse staff (Clubhouse Manager, Batboys, etc)

  • Other responsibilities as assigned throughout the baseball season

This position will start February 1 and go through the end of the season.

This position pays $11.00 an hour.

SUMMARY:

 

The EMT staff is responsible to assist our guest and fans with any first aid or medical attention needed which includes; being attentive, positive and showing compassion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Description:

Raley Field is looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, driven individual to join the Events and Entertainment department. The qualified candidate will participate in the planning and execution of events from start to finish.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Will assist the department in overall departmental tasks and responsibilities.
  • Will be a part of planning all non-baseball related events from start to finish.
  • Must be able to work all events put on by the department.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all clients and potential clients to deliver outstanding service.
  • Will work with Events Department to brainstorm new event ideas and research local events.
  • Will assist in administrative duties (i.e. data entry and maintenance, filing, answering phones, responding to online event inquiries, etc.).
  • Must be able to help advertise upcoming events by distributing marketing materials to various local establishments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Events and Entertainment Coordinator - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for producing all facility rentals and ticketed events at Raley Field.  The Events Coordinator is responsible for contacting all historical rental clients, finding new clients, preparing financials for each potential rental, organizing all contracts, and executing each rental. The Events Coordinator will work closely with all departments within the organization to properly communicate all facility events at the ballpark. We are looking for an energetic individual eager to lead and execute all special events at the ballpark.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Help develop collateral for private events held at Raley Field.

  2. Follow up with past clients and reach out to new potential clients.

  3. Must be able to coordinate with all departments and outside vendors.

  4. Must have great customer service skills.

  5. Must understand the financials behind each facility rental and ticketed event.

  6. Must coordinate day of vendor load-in and set-up.

  7. Must keep up with events in the Sacramento area and constantly think of new events to bring to Raley Field.

  8. Must be able to multi-task and have excellent time management skills to handle multiple events on the same day.

  9. Must have good written and verbal skills.

  10. Must be able to collaborate and work with operational staff regarding event set-ups/timing.

  11. Maintain Raley Field Facility calendar and manage its distribution to staff.

  12. Must be able to creatively suggest event layouts to clients based on stadium rules and regulations.

  13. Must actively work with the Marketing department to prepare event looks and materials, as well as marketing plans.

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Inside Sales Representative is an entry level position in which you will learn about the sports industry from a ticket sales perspective.  You will be soliciting potential clients by phone to sell season seats and group outings all while providing outstanding service to our guests and clients. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Be responsible for sales of Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field ticket inventory.

  • Approximately 20-25 hours per week.

  • Compensation is hourly and there is commission on revenue.

  • Conduct 100 or more cold calls per day.

  • Work on a daily basis to generate new leads and creative ways to sell tickets.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.

  • Handle incoming calls from sales prospects and existing clients.

  • Actively research and prospect new sales leads.

  • Professionally represent the organization.

  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.

  • Work as a member of the TEAM, and have fun!

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Strong interpersonal skills a must.

SUMMARY: The River Cats and Raley Field is looking for a unique individual to assume the role of the River Cats Mascot, “Dinger”. The successful candidate should have one or more of the following attributes:

Media Relations Assistant - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY:

The Sacramento River Cats are the Triple-A baseball affiliate of the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball Club.  We are looking for a highly talented, professional media relations coordinator eager to assist in both short- and long-term media and public relations projects. The hours of the position are seasonal and fluctuate depending on game times.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage Raley Field press box before, during, and after games

  • Oversee and facilitate all baseball and non-baseball related media requests from staff, fans, & media

  • Supply content for River Cats daily online baseball information and print publications

  • Write daily game story while team is at home and on road

  • Create and edit content for The Inside Pitch gameday program

  • Write and distribute all baseball/non-baseball press releases in a timely manner

  • Work with Marketing staff to prepare for preseason activities; including media guide creation and Media Day

  • Work with Corporate Partnership staff to fulfil partner commitments

  • Prepare all game day media information including game notes, team info, statistics, rosters, and collateral

  • Maintain friendly and professional relationship with all local media members

  • Publicize, coordinate, and run all press conferences & interviews

  • Proofread and edit all company collateral

  • Aid in creation and execution of marketing plans and initiatives

  • Oversee, edit, and provide content for team website and blog

  • Assist Social Media Coordinator in creating content for social media platforms

Stadium Operations Laborer - Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club, LLC (West Sacramento, CA)

SUMMARY

Main responsibilities include maintaining Raley Field by doing repairs, beautification projects, general maintenance and setting up for events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Painting projects in and around the stadium

  • Minor repairs on the facility and equipment

  • Set up for baseball games

  • Set up for special events and concerts

  • Complete all jobs on time and to standards set forth by Facility Supervisor/Director, Stadium Operations

  • Identify facility and ops needs

  • Maintain the appearance of the facility

  • Two years experience in a support role in a fast paced, complex working environment

  • High School Diploma required, college degree a plus
