Group Sales Manager– Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Pacific Coast League of Professional Baseball) 

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox of the Pacific Coast League of Professional Baseball are owned and operated by the Elmore Sports Group.  The Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for selling, and managing first class hospitality events for the clients of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Baseball Club.  Applicants must possess all the requirements listed below to be considered for this position.

Candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the Colorado Springs Sky Sox meet their projected group sales goals for the 2015 season. Core competencies to include: Excellent time management and communication skills; ability to reach out to the corporate community and work as an event planner to ensure client outings, community groups and/or picnics are successful and as turnkey as possible to meet our clients’ partnership expectations; and provide exceptional service before, during, and after the sale. Candidate will be thoroughly trained on all sales procedures, and be provided with the tools needed to be successful.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Picnic Sales: Responsible for prospecting new customers, and qualifying leads provided. Candidate will inherit some existing accounts, but will need to be proactive in cultivating new business.
  • Event Planning duties:  Must oversee and execute entire group events from beginning to end to ensure a successful outing for the client and their guests. Any other specific duties related to the group outing as assigned.
  • Community Group Sales: Responsible for working with local community groups (i.e. Boy/Girl Scouts, Little Leagues, Schools and Military Groups, Theme Nights, etc.).  Some sponsorship sales will also be required when dealing with group accounts.

Background:

  • Successful candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years sales experience, preferably in the sports industry. Candidate must have strong management skills, be well organized, and be able to contribute to a team environment. Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives.

    Physical Requirements:
    Extended hours of work between the months of March to September.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Box Office Supervisor drives all the functions for the team’s Box Office. The position reports to the Box Office Manager and oversees the processing and payments of all group, season, club, skybox, and individual ticket orders, as well as all non-baseball ticketed events (concerts). 

Essential Job Functions:
• Process all season, group, and individual ticket orders with no errors and in a timely fashion.
• Process all payments and details for club and skybox accounts.
• Oversee printing and shipping of season tickets.
• Hire, train, and manage all seasonal Box Office staff and assist sales staff with ticketing issues.

• Handle all deposits, credit card charges, and refunds for ticket-related orders.
• Create and implement processes for season and group renewals and invoicing.

The Sacramento River Cats,  have just concluded our 15th season. Since the team came to Sacramento in 2000, no minor league team has consistently filled the ballpark as much as the Cats. This past season, more than 700,000 people attended events at Raley Field. Raley Field has been the toast of the region since its debut in May of 2000. With a seating capacity of 14,014, it features 36 luxury suites, 2,500 club seats, a stadium club, multiple group party areas, children’s playground, a giant HD LED video board and a state-of-the-art audio/visual production center.

In addition to our attendance records, we won back-to-back Pacific Coast League Championships twice (2003-04 and 2007-08), played host to the 2005 Triple-A-All-Star Game, and continue to send many players on to the Major Leagues, including Barry Zito, Nick Swisher and Carlos Gonzalez.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Assisting in activation of all contractual partnership elements including, but not limited to: in-game activities and promotions, sponsor signage, radio inventory, print ads, hospitality, VIP tours and first pitches, giveaways, non-baseball events, and other obligations
• Creating sponsorship proposals
• Providing support for the luxury suite level, both game day and non game day
• Providing exceptional customer service

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Four year related degree preferred

• Accurately sell tickets using Ticketmaster Archtics and Host systems, handle all payment transactions in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
• Learning and retaining all policies and knowledge pertaining to each event being held in the building including dates, times, ticket prices, discounts, restrictions, seating options, event descriptions and general information about the facility. 
• Arrives for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work in a professional manner.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ticket sellers must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Basic computer skills ideally with a computerized ticketing system or point of sale system
• Cash handling and/or retail experience
• Ability to accurately and efficiently deal with cash and process credit card transactions
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to keep accurate and legible records
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends and holidays
