Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
Group Sales Coordinator - Oklahoma City Dodgers (Oklahoma City, OK)

HOW TO BECOME A SUPERSTAR
To become a superstar with teams, you need to first know that it all starts with tickets. Tickets are the lifeblood of sports. Once you learn tickets—truly learn how to market tickets--then it’s on to sponsorships. Learn both, and you’ve got the right ticket to run teams.

There are two types of tickets we sell: season ticket plans and group tickets. We sell both and we put a lot of time and energy into selling both. We don’t give you the Yellow Pages and tell you to go sell. Our philosophy is train, train, train, and when we get tired of that, we train some more. Our goal is to accelerate your growth as fast as we can.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
We sell group tickets a lot different than most other teams. Most teams will start selling groups in April or May when the season starts and the boss says to stop selling season tickets and try to sell groups. They’ll get a few birthday parties and the local Kiwanis Club to come out, but not much more.

We sell group tickets twelve months out of the year. We build our database from October through December. By the time we send out our catalog, our database will be 20,000 names of good group leaders and prospects. That is a list of gold when it comes to selling group tickets.

You’ll be part of the most aggressive group sales force in all of minor league baseball selling group tickets to businesses, schools, churches, youth leagues, and anyone else we can think of.

A SUPERSTAR STARTS IN OKLAHOMA CITY
The Oklahoma City Dodgers are the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. We play in a beautiful ballpark located in downtown Oklahoma City. It’s a great team in a fantastic city!

QUALIFICATIONS
Do you want to be a superstar in sports business? That’s the first qualification. If you answered yes, then answer two more questions: 1) do you have a strong work ethic and 2) do you have desire to learn and excel?

You should have strong communication skills (you have to like to talk to people) and a willingness to listen and learn. If you don’t have sales experience, don’t worry about it because we don’t worry about it.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU MAKE?
You’ll make a base salary plus commissions and full health benefits are included. We would like for you to make at least 25% more in your second year with us and another 25% in your third year.

START DATE
If you’re ready to become a superstar right now, apply online today. We want to add to our group sales staff right now.

Note: When you apply for this job online, you will be required to answer the following questions:

1. Yes/No: Do you have any previous sales experience? If yes, explain.
2. Yes/No: Are you comfortable making at least 100 phone calls a day?

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
Ticket Sales Representative - Oklahoma City Dodgers (Oklahoma City, OK)

You probably want to be the president of a team someday. That's good; you're in the right place.  If you don't, you shouldn't waste your time reading the rest of this job description.

THREE OUT OF FOUR DOESN’T WORK

We figure that you don't have the skill set to be a president right now. However, if president is your target, you need to answer 'yes' to each one of the three questions listed at the very bottom of this posting.

If you say 'yes' to the first three questions, you're on the right track. However, to get a 'yes' on the fourth question, you are going to have to do some homework. Talk to teams about the real training that they give. Tossing you the Yellow Pages doesn't count as training. We feel that to become a team president, you'll need to know this: It all starts with tickets. Tickets are the lifeblood of sports. Once you learn tickets—truly learn how to sell and market tickets—you’re on your way to running a team.

We start our people on our lifeblood—remember, that’s tickets. No Yellow Pages tossing for us. Our philosophy is train, train, train. And when we get tired of that, we train some more. Our goal is to accelerate your growth as fast as you will allow us to do so.

WHAT TEAM WILL YOU BE SELLING FOR?

The Oklahoma CIty Dodgers are the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. We play in beautiful Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark located in downtown Oklahoma City. It’s a great team in a fantastic city!

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Tickets. Remember, its tickets. You’d be a salesperson making sales calls to groups within different categories selling our different group products including seats in the stands and hospitality. We don’t expect that you’ll know how to sell our different ticket packages, so we provide extensive training. We’ll teach you how to make the initial call and how to help select the best ticket package for that particular prospect. We’ll also allow you to explore other areas of the organization with some operational and administrative tasks, but about 99% of your time will be spent selling tickets.  You’ll be working ticket sales in minor league baseball. This means long hours during the work week and being available for all necessary events.

WHO DOES THE TRAINING?

Training is done in-house. We’ll start you off with a boot camp giving you all the information you need to be successful. Don’t worry—we’re not going to just hand you a “how to sell tickets” manual and expect you to study it. The training is interactive so you’re learning and applying at the same time. After boot camp, you’ll have a pool of high-level executives such as our team president and vice president of ticket sales, in addition to a staff of experienced sales reps to learn from.

QUALIFICATIONS

Did you answer yes to the first three questions at the very bottom of this posting? If you do, we can answer the fourth question for you. Yes, you will get unsurpassed training that will be giant steps in reaching your career goal.

Answered yes to all four, you qualify. Now you have to take action; you have to apply.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU MAKE?

You’ll be paid hourly plus commission. You will also enter our hiring pipeline so if a full-time position becomes available with the OKC Dodgers, you will have a huge head-start in the running.

START DATE

Yesterday. If you’re ready to take that first giant step to becoming a president right now, apply online today.

Note: When you apply for this job online, you will be required to answer the following questions:

1. Yes/No: Do you have any previous sales experience? If yes, explain.
2. Yes/No: Do you have any telephone sales experience, either in-bound or outbound? If yes, explain.
3. Yes/No: Are you comfortable making at least 100 phone calls a day?
