The Colorado Springs Sky Sox of the Pacific Coast League of Professional Baseball are owned and operated by the Elmore Sports Group.  We are looking for an individual who will be the Sky Sox daily On-Field Emcee for all Sky Sox home games.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

            - Daily On-Field Emcee for all 2015 Sky Sox home games.

- Must have strong vocal communications skills and an ability to deliver information in a fun yet clear manner via the stadium sound system.

- Have a fun demeanor at all times, on the microphone, in the stands, and at all times with fans.

- Must be able to be the consistent voice of FUN in the ballpark

- Participate in Sky Sox Theme nights (ex: Star Wars night, Batman night, etc.)

- Work with the on-field promotional staff to deliver a personal experience with all promotional contestants.

- Work closely with the Sr. Director of Marketing & Promotions and VP of Sales to make sure that all sponsor obligations are fulfilled.

Position Overview:

The Account Executive’s main responsibility is to produce group ticket revenue by developing and maintaining group ticket accounts. The AE will sell new group accounts to decision makers within businesses and non-profit organizations. The AE will also sell new season seat accounts through outside sales appointments with businesses, and over the phone sales to local residences.

Essential Job Functions:
• Meet all sales goals assigned.
• Set appointments over the phone with decision-makers, consistently meeting the weekly goals for sales appointments.
• Master all sales presentations (taught in sales training), and deliver it in front of company decision-makers, tailoring packages according to each company's needs, and handling objections in an effort to bring in new season seat accounts.

HOW TO BECOME A SUPERSTAR 
To become a superstar with teams, you need to first know that it all starts with tickets. Tickets are the lifeblood of sports. Once you learn tickets—truly learn how to market tickets--then it’s on to sponsorships. Learn both, and you’ve got the right ticket to run teams.

There are two types of tickets we sell: season ticket plans and group tickets. We sell both and we put a lot of time and energy into selling both. We don’t give you the Yellow Pages and tell you to go sell. Our philosophy is train, train, train, and when we get tired of that, we train some more. Our goal is to accelerate your growth as fast as we can.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
We sell group tickets a lot different than most other teams. Most teams will start selling groups in April or May when the season starts and the boss says to stop selling season tickets and try to sell groups. They’ll get a few birthday parties and the local Kiwanis Club to come out, but not much more.

We sell group tickets twelve months out of the year. We build our database from October through December. By the time we send out our catalog, our database will be 20,000 names of good group leaders and prospects. That is a list of gold when it comes to selling group tickets.

You’ll be part of the most aggressive group sales force in all of minor league baseball selling group tickets to businesses, schools, churches, youth leagues, and anyone else we can think of.

We’ll teach you how to make the initial call and how to help select the best ticket package for that particular prospect. This means long hours during the work week and being available for all necessary events.

WHO DOES THE TRAINING?

Training is done in-house. We’ll start you off with a boot camp giving you all the information you need to be successful. Don’t worry—we’re not going to just hand you a “how to sell tickets” manual and expect you to study it. The training is interactive so you’re learning and applying at the same time. After boot camp, you’ll have a pool of high-level executives such as our team president and vice president of ticket sales, in addition to a staff of experienced sales reps to learn from.

  • Directly manage the day-to-day relationship for select Corporate Partner accounts

  • Document items throughout the season and oversee the creation of a comprehensive Annual Report for each sponsor at the conclusion of the season including template design, editing, proofing and presenting the report to sponsors
  • Oversee the production of the PlayBall! game program, including:
    • Managing the PlayBall! Sponsor Services Coordinator
    • Approve template design, covers and artwork
    • Review copy and graphics for promotional pages
    • Proof and ensure accuracy of sponsor ads and team information
    • Approve quantities and ordering process with print company
  • Assist PlayBall! Sponsor Services Coordinator and graphic designer with team graphic needs, including sponsor/suite proposals, website graphics, digital stadium signage, event fliers, and more
  • Execute suite holder leases including providing VIP tours, facilitating ticket requests, managing events, etc.
  • Consistently brainstorm and review new ideas for sponsors, sales materials, new partnerships and internal process improvement
  • Support sponsors and other guests in the stadium at games and other events:
    • Work most home games (including nights, weekends and holidays)
    • Provide VIP pre-game tours
    • Enact sponsor plaza events and promotions before and during games
  • Communicate sponsor programs and events across departments within the team via homestand reports
  • Work tirelessly to find opportunities to over-deliver on value for sponsors

The Sales Assistant is an entry level position in which you will learn about the sports industry from a ticket sales perspective.  You will be working closely with the Account Executives to provide excellent service to existing and potential clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Be responsible for sales of Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field ticket inventory.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week.
  • Work on a daily basis to generate new leads and creative ways to sell tickets.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
  • Conduct 50-100 cold calls a day.
  • Professionally represent the organization.
  • Work games and other events to support ticket sales initiatives, this includes evenings and weekends.
  • Work as a member of the TEAM, and have fun!

 

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Strong interpersonal skills a must.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to be successful.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word & Excel.
  • Sales experience is required, experience cold calling a plus.
  • Strong background in customer service is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay Rate: $9.00 per hour
