Finance: Accounting/Finance other
Accounting Manager - Omaha Storm Chasers (Papillion, NE)

Summary: The Accounting Manager manages day-to-day accounting for income and expenses and available cash. In addition, this position will be responsible for all invoicing and collections as well as vendor payments. This is a year-round, part-time position with an average of 20-25 hours a week. There is potential for this position to evolve into a full-time position.The start date for this position is late October/early November 2017.    

In Season Responsibilities:

  • General ledger entries for all contracted revenue and related adjustments in QuickBooks
  • General ledger entries for all miscellaneous revenue and related adjustments in QuickBooks
  • Reconcile revenue on general ledger to revenues on subsidiary ledgers monthly
  • Reconcile unbilled revenues on general ledger to payments plans monthly
  • Perform standard journal entries monthly as assigned
  • Receive payments from customers and game day areas in QuickBooks
  • Process deposits for all funds received and record in QuickBooks
  • Monitor open and past due accounts and communicate with sales personnel to collect in a timely manner
  • Process invoices to be paid and manage payment of all amounts owed by the team
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Initiate and process payment via ACH, check or credit card
  • Distribute and reconcile meal and travel money for players and staff
  • Monitor petty cash accounts
  • Ensure all contracts, paid invoices and other critical documents are properly filed and archived
  • Other duties may be assigned

Game Day Responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary cash bags for different points of sale before an event and distribute to proper supervisors
  • Count and record receipts related to an event the day following an event
  • Assist with client and fan entertainment as necessary
  • Assist other departments when necessary

Off Season Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Assistant General Manager with accounting, budgeting, and reporting functions

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • At least one year of prior accounting, finance, or cash management experience preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong math aptitude and ability to attend to detail
  • Ability to process work with accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Good working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and database programs
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Ability and willingness to work varied hours including occasional nights, weekends and holidays

Working Conditions: This job operates in an office environment located at a ballpark. This individual routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copiers.  During games and events, this individual may be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
